‘Let God be true, and every man a liar!’ (Rom 3.4) This is one of my favorite passages in Holy Scripture; I know it was one of Luther’s too (I
wonder why?). If we ever needed to live with this perspective, this is the time. Let the truth reign supreme, and every knee bow, and tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. There is no politician, immunologist, epidemiologist, statistician, Bill Gates, or anyone else who is true; save the living God. He is true. In His truth, in His Light we can come to discern the truth from the lie. In these days of delusion, and outright fear-mongering the Christian’s witness can best be served by bearing witness to the truth of the risen Christ. Embedded in this reality, all other truths are encompassed and have the capacity to be seen as truth or lie / light or darkness. There is so much darkness right now that unless someone is pointed to the light of Christ, they may well fall prey to the angel of light who seeks to kill, still, and destroy. The world is being sleuthed into a dark abyss by dark and shadowy figures who say they are for the people, when they are really only for themselves and their demonic interests. Let God be true, and every man a liar! We have data, not from China, but our own country. The truth is, is that this whole thing has been a horrific lie and hoax (which anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear from very early on could see with bright colors). It is hard for me to understand, as a Christian, how other Christians, people of the truth, can’t see through the lies that would elevate themselves over and against the knowledge of the living God in Christ. That’s what lies do; any lie. If Christ is the truth, then there is no lie in Him. If God is God, He cannot lie. But we know that this is the absolute modus operandi of the enemy of our souls; that’s who he is according to Jesus: the satan is the deceiver and ‘father of lies.’ Let God be true, and every man a liar! Anyone not for Christ, anyone who lies, and practices lying (among other things) is of their father the devil, according to Jesus. Who are the biggest liars in our country right now? It isn’t those aligned with the real data, it is those continuing to use unfounded fear to condition and control the masses for some nefarious purposes (I have ideas of what those might be). The Christian thing to do is to recognize that, and call it out for what it is. It is not the Christian thing to do to submit to a lie. When the sanctity of human life is at stake, it is better to obey God rather than the principalities and powers of our age. And yes, it isn’t so called COVID19 that is the killer, it is the outright scorched earth economic and psychological destruction it has only just started to cause the world over!
For the Christian, our motto ought to be LET GOD BE TRUE, AND EVERY MAN A LIAR! Will we allow this axiom to control our movements in these perilous times? I pray so. May the Word of the Lord endure forever, verbum Dei manet in aeternum, and the lies of men whither away with the grass. Come quickly, Jesus; even so come!
HI I respect your posts highly on religion but on matters of public policy and health we cannot agree. I have been involved in the jacksonville baptist hospital (FL) cov19 task force. so, we did model the italian increase rate in early april and expected a large number of people on vents by mid may. well,social distancing has worked or the model was too pessimistic.and our florida version may have already peaked about 3 wks ahead of predicted . Thank God. But you need to remember we acted in good faith here , and our leaders were very transparent about how they were modelling and i personally had to take crash class on ventilator managemwent and how to operate the hospital EHR in case i got called in from my office to assist hospitalists.. but i don’t really think we made a self inflicted wound per se.. I do agree the economic damage is horrible and it is up to our government to re open economy carefully but the s korea scenario shows that extensive population testing does help control the prevalence of the pandemic.. by identifying and more selectively isolating individuals.. Is there a demonic component to this thing? no.. it’s nature doing what nature does. Will satan use catastrophes to try to destroy us? always. hope this helps
No, you’re completely off base, Eric. I have all sorts of research, expert insight etc, which I’ve been sharing on my FB, that supports my outrage in this post. Repeating the mainstream narrative/reasoning here does nothing but reinforce the reality that something very deceptive has overtaken the common sense of most who would typically be reasonable and see right through the nature of this whole fiasco. You’re apparently too trusting of the leadership, I realize that makes life feel more ordered etc, but you shouldn’t be. I could refer you to all my sources, but it sounds like you’re already very sucked into the whole false narrative. Look up Judy Mikovits and her work: Plague of Corruption. Or Stanford, Yale, and Israeli studies and experts on this. You’re still repeating stuff they were using 2 months ago to justify this whole unnecessary fiasco. Not only that. They are inflating the death count, don’t you know that? Pneumonia and heart disease deaths are proportionally going down at the same right that covid are rising. I mean there is all kinds of data that you seem totally unaware of. Let alone the inadequacy of the test as a diagnostic tool. And the nature of the virus itself. Get outside of your comfort zone, do yourself a healthy favor, and look at the alternative non mainstream sources of critical inquiry on this, and think again.
Thanks for you article, Bobby. It will stir the pot, for good. To provoke a rethink, or a fresh re-evaluation of where any approach to life and public conversation is at, is a good thing.
The matter of deceit, and the outworking of public perception, fear and unquestioning deception is very real. The whole story of human history has a myriad of examples. However would Marxism, Nazism, Islam, Socialism, Capitalism and Atheism, and many modern Western educational values ever gain a stranglehold on nations, otherwise?
Deception is certainly a primary factor in the unbelief that engulfs individuals, peoples and and nations, concerning the good news of God’s gospel. Blessings in Christ.
Good word, Trevor. Thank you! I wish folks would wake up and quit simply eating the pablum the MSM feeds them. I’m about to lose my job next week. And for what, virus that is no worse than the flu?! And the people who buy into this deceptive fear-mongering have allowed for a widespread economic disaster the likes of which history has not witnessed. It is outrageous. But people want the vanilla normalcy and comfortability they’ve become accustomed to; vouchsafed to them by the cultural symbols shaped by avarice and greed couched in status quo order and normalcy. As Christians, of all people, we should be able to see thru all of this. Alas, idolatry has an allure and subtlety than only vigilance in Christ can look past and through for what it is.
When people keep repeating the same numbers and arguments based on a clearly flawed (from the get go!) Imperial College predictive model, we don’t have much to talk about whatsoever. I realize that by being forthright about these things I will lose credibility and readership with many. But that’s okay, I don’t want to pay the price for what that type of credibility requires.
@Eric,
Let me just say though, brother: while we are going to have to disagree, you’re right about that, about what is going on in the public sphere right now, I should hope that we can continue fellowshipping around the reality that I hope charges this blog the most: Jesus Christ. I apologize for how terse, forward, and aggressive my response to you was above. As for everyone this is a very stressful time, and I am attempting to process what is happening right now; as is everyone. We clearly take different approaches to that; we clearly have different news streams and people we trust, indeed, we seem to be at diametric and polar opposite ends of the spectrum; and we in fact seem to be on different sides of this. But I wouldn’t want to lose fellowship, even if your presence is only virtual and at the lurking level :). Anyway, I’m a passionate guy, and dive all in when I dive into whatever it is that I dive. I will continue posting on these things, and of course my normal fare too; in fact I’m writing a post write now on natural theology and covid19, with reference to the Barmen Declaration. So, we will continue to disagree on these things. But hopefully we can still meet around the table of Jesus Christ together, even if just virtually. Stay safe, and blessings.
“Sleuthed” doesn’t mean whatever you think it means in this post. But I’m sure you’ll just shoot back that I want the vanilla normalcy of trusting the dictionary.
@Anthony,
Like I’ve told lots of people: I don’t accept anonymous comments, particularly snarky ones like yours. Sleuthed means exactly what it means in the context I usus loquendi am using it in. I.e. I am using it somewhat ironically, and jabbingly towards the ‘shadowy’ figures behind what is going on. It is highlighting that they are still testing or investigating to see just how they can actuate their total plan. It is saying that they are incompetent to actually offer a substantive plan and thus are sleuthing in an attempt to find one per their dark and evil desires.
If you want to comment, at least try to make it smart next time. And quit hiding behind your first name.
