Wes Huff (X post):
If your theological convictions are not actively making you more gracious, humble, and repentant than [sic.] your beliefs are not being shaped by Jesus they’re motivated by a desire to be argumentatively “right.”
Bobby Grow’s response:
Some of our best theologians were rascals. Not that it makes it right, but it is to point out that Jesus’ approach is big enough to encompass the personalities and passions he has disposed us with. To me, it is all about a broader ethic of love one for the other. To be “right” is still to be right even if gotten at in the wrong way. But this attests to the mercifulness and graciousness of the Lord’s reality and not ours. Jesus wasn’t and isn’t a Pietist, a Victorian, or a Schleiermacherean; he is Theanthropos (Godman) with all of the entailments of humanity (indeed, as he Self-determined those to be in his choice to be God for us, in us, and with us by the Holy Spirit).

He wasn’t always “nice” either.
@Steve,
