Good Fridayā¦
Yes!⦠and Iām grateful indeed! Thanks be to God for his indescribableĀ gift!
As a follower of Jesus Christ, I am one who atĀ oneĀ momentĀ understood, and now experientiallyĀ knowsĀ him to be āthe Christ.ā I am also one who awaits, abiding the all too often painful grief that accompanies the experience of our present yearning, yet also anticipating the joy of his coming presence.
The āsenseā (or āunderstandingā) I have ofĀ howĀ God makes this āsensibleā has come by way of my acceptance and receiving of Godās Spirit given as His response to the particular and concrete plea of my own spirit⦠desperate that He might demonstrateĀ his actual realityĀ as a necessary reason for continuing my own existence.Ā MyĀ senseĀ wasĀ that He had his fingerprints on me; but I didnāt possess anĀ understandingĀ that allowed me to makeĀ senseĀ ofĀ why, nor a certainty in fact.
Moreover, I was oppressed under a spirit of depression and hopeless disillusionmentā and possessed by an ultimate sense of despair such that I considered and planned suicide as a āreasonable insanity.ā
Yes, it does now appear that God is able to find us⦠lost and in a dark place⦠and even when we donāt ask⦠because his love searches out the ādeep thingsā to be found in the mess of debris of our lives⦠things merely bearing an appearance of being hidden from any possibleĀ divineĀ regard.
Good Friday⦠Emet!⦠and amen.
Amen Richard! Thank you for sharing that. I have also been to those points of despair and darkness in the past, and the Lord is even there. Amen. Keep on keeping on, brother!
