Commenting Issues Here at the Blog

A quick question; are any of you having problems with commenting at the blog here? I have gotten some feedback via facebook that folk are having a problem commenting, and that they are being asked to login first before they can. In fact I cannot even comment on my blog anymore without signing into my blog first. If you are willing, I would appreciate it if you either leave a comment here so that I know you’re not having a problem doing so; or, could you shoot me an email real quick and let me know if you are having a problem? My email is: growba@gmail.com

  1. Hey Bobby!
    Testing, Testing
And taking the twelve, He said to them, “See, we are going to Jerusalem, and everything that is written about the Son of Man by the prophets will be accomplished. For He will be delivered over to the Gentiles and will be mocked and shamefully treated and spit upon and after flogging Him, they will kill Him and on the third day He will rise.” But they did understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them and they did not grasp what He said.

  2. Duane,

It looks like if you have a WordPress account or Gravatar account associated with the email you put in below; it won’t let you comment w/o being signed in to WP or Gravatar. . . . And that’s an unfortunate and cumbersome problem.

    Hello dccgc,

Yeah, I should’ve been more clear; I wanted to see if you “HAD” to be logged in order to comment if you have a WP account. Yeah, I understand that there is no issue if you have a WP account and comment signed in, but my concern is if someone wants to comment who doesn’t have a WP account; I want them to be able to comment as well. It is obviously a new thing, and its a new thing I am not a fan of at all! Cumbersome.

  3. Of all the inflammatory articles you’ve written here this is likely the worst! This brazen attempt to solicit reader input simply to β€œidentify” your own β€œposting” woes is totally unacceptable! πŸ™‚

No problems commenting from this end! πŸ˜‰

  4. @Ian and Kc,

I think it is only a problem if someone has a WordPress or Gravatar account, and with that account they use the same email address as they do when they try to comment on WP as a guest (e.g. w/o signing in). It recognizes that you have a WP or Gravatar account associated with the same email, and then requires you to sign in. I still don’t like this as it might mitigate some from commenting … or maybe not.

  5. Hi, testing, testing…. I have been on wordpress in order to develop my ‘elephantintheroomisgod’ blog! I have now logged out. This comment will not go through on my registered blog address. I presumably have to use a different email address. I take my hat off to
you bloggers, the control panels are just too involved and complicated for me and I have used up all my patience on other tech. stuff. I really take my hat off for all
the trouble it is to maintain a blog! My blog was to be a simple observational acct. of things from a trinitarian perspective with as little overt theology as possible! The trouble which quickly arises with theological issues is that of accountability to sources and the inevitable book trail of reading required!!

  6. Hi bobby, just to confirm I was logged out of WP/gravatar….and my normal email would not work on this site. Difficult for those if they have only one email address. But I am not a technie…..
