Starting My PhD Research: The Vicarious Humanity of Christ

I just thought I would let you all know I am starting my PhD research studying the doctrine of the vicarious humanity of Christ with special attention to the theology of Thomas Torrance. I am excited about this for various reasons; but as far as the research, I am excited to dig into this doctrine and study the origin and development of it within the history of the Christian Church. I am still working out my basic proposal and thesis at this stage, and am beginning the process of putting together a bibliography. I am going to be taking a look at someone from the Patristic period (maybe Athanasius), from the Reformation period (Calvin), and the the Modern period (TF Torrance); and placing all of them in conversation with the contemporary theological situation. So my method and approach will be historical, dialogical, and constructive. I am studying with Dr. Myk Habets, and the degree will be granted through South African Theological Seminary. I look forward to starting this new venture!
