A Little Scare . . .

Late this afternoon I received a phone call, it was my oncologist, Dr. Ryan. He wanted to give me my “official results” from my CT scan — he gave me my “unofficial results” on Tuesday — he said that the radiologist noted something different on the scan compared with my last scan. I was like okay (as my stomach dropped a bit), he went on to say that there is a “shadow” or very small nodule in the area of my colon (which is far removed from where my cancer originally was). At this moment my head started to spin, accompanied by a cold sweat; then he went on to say that they think it is inflamed tissue, and that it is absolutely nothing to worry about. His words were “it’s nothing to lose any sleep over!” He went on to say that the only reason he had to call and tell me the results was because he is basically required to do soΒ given the notation by the radiologist. He said that instead of waiting 6 months for my next CT scan, in lieu of this scan, that we’ll just keep it at 4 months for the next CT scan (which is what it has been the last 3x). It took me a bit (and my wife) to process this, but at the end of the day the reality is, is that I’m still “cancer-free;” if the doctor was worried at all I would be in there right now, and he wouldn’t leave it at 4 months. So yes, a little scare, but in the end, still good news! We would stillΒ appreciate your prayers!

  1. Bobby. I pray the the Lord will keep you in his peace. I pray that his peace will settle over you and your family like a blanket. May he protect you all from the darts of the evil one and your minds, bodies and heart be sweet, peaceable and health. May his tangible presence fill you with joy and strength…in Jesus name I pray!

  2. Craig,

Thank you, brother, I really appreciate your prayer! This has produced a little angst, but just something that needed to be processed through; the news is still excellent news, and I’m still cancer free — praise the Lord!!! πŸ™‚ Thanks, brother . . .

  3. All of us Christians really walk by faith! It seems God will not let His people escape it! My wife may need surgery also? She has suffered so the last few years. Indeed the Christian life is a journey!

But, yes peace & blessings my brother!
