I have this great quote from TFT on John Knox, and his ‘ordinance of grace’; and how Knox saw all of salvation history saturated by this ‘ordinance’. It is a beautiful quote, and highlights what Knox thought of God’s immutability; he clearly believed in it, but not in the typical Thomistic/medieval static terms that so many before him had conceived. I’ll share this tomorrow . . . too late now!
Unrelated, but thought of you today when I read Mike Horton suggest the moniker “Evangelical Calvinism” to define the “young, restless, and Reformed” movement.

You better start clamoring or you’ll have to change your blog name.
Hey, he can’t do that π !
I’ll have to do a post in response, not that many are reading π anymore — that’s okay . . . I write for the Lord primarily π .
Hey Bobby!
Maybe you should apply for a trademark for “Evangelical Calvinist”. You’ve owned it as long as I’ve known you, which in human years is a short time, but in dog years….
Oh, yeah! And if one’s spiritual life is measured in the long spans of time wherein little growth occurs, vis a vis times of growth spurts, these past 8 or 9 months have been epoch for me, compared to the last 10 years, and maybe for you as well. I think I said that right….
Anyhow, trademark it!

Yeah, this season is causing me and my family to grow in ways that I never thought possible; or at least in areas yet unexplored in my faith (as far as the pressure and fire this season has produced). I hope to come out of this season looking more like Christ; I’m sure that’s what the LORD is doing here (cf. I Pet. 1).
And I’m very encouraged that you are experiencing a growth spurt too, Daune!
