What good does it do to preach if you don’t preach Christ fully? There are so many pastors out there, in the Evangelical church, who have good intentions; but for lack of a better word, they are wousses! They are afraid to offend people with the Gospel, they are afraid to let scripture speak; and the result is that, in many instances, they create people who are “half-baked.” As far as I’m concerned seeker sensitive/church growth models and approaches only make the lair of satan all too happy.
If you’re called to preach/teach, remember, you stand before an “audience of One,” not men (see Gal. 1:1-10). If you preach and live for men, then you disqualify yourself as a minister of the Gospel; and you’ve fallen under a stricter judgement, that is scary. I just don’t think most pastors, and for that matter, Christians, in general, take the reality of scripture seriously. It’s easy to fall into that trap, we read, reread, rereread the same passages over and again; but let’s not forget that what scripture is talking about has life and death urgency tied to it!
Either your for Christ or against Him, there’s no in between!
